Nant-y-Big, a family-run camping and caravan site for over 80 years, is the only campsite that is positioned by beautiful Porth Ceiriad beach near Abersoch on the Lleyn Peninsula. It has the luxury of three separate camping areas: safe, family-only pitches with electric hookups near to the facilities, a 15 minute walk down to the beach; a low-density camping area with panoramic views of the beach and Cardigan Bay; a third area set in the valley just above Porth Ceiriad beach itself. These last two camping areas require a short walk of between 50-250 metres - depending on choice of pitch - to more basic facilities.
Out of peak season, the campsite is a haven for wildlife, especially birdlife, the tranquil, southern-facing setting making for one of the most relaxing camping experiences anywhere, weather permitting. Nature-lovers will enjoy the quiet beauty of coastal walks or seaside fishing, flora and fauna or just escaping the daily grind.
To keep Ceiriad at its best, we welcome friendly and environmentally-aware visitors, who will help us preserve our home for future enjoyment. Basic site rules include:-
+ No noise whatsoever to be tolerated after 11.00pm
+ No fires
+ Rubbish to be kept under cover, away from
wildlife, and disposed of in bins provided
+ All campers to walk (not drive) to the toilets
+ All facilities to be used responsibly and left clean
